Orange Carrot Ginger Juice

Did you know that this is one of the most balanced juice ever?

Throw back to winter when we had plenty of oranges and orange juice, so I made this juice combination, and it is not just a random mix and match.

In our culture, everything in this world is about harmony, yin and yang. So does food. Since I was young, I have heard how my parents and adults around me categorize different kinds of food into “cold” (yin) and “hot” (yang) groups. “Cold” meaning that if you eat too much of these, you’d more likely to catch a cold, and feel sick. On the other hand, eating too much “hot” food would cause acne, skin problems, lesions in your mouth…(they said because of your body trying to get rid of the heat). So, food balance is extremely important for your health.

Orange, is a cold food. So to balance, we normally mix with carrot and ginger as hot ones to even it out.

Of course it doesn’t mean you can’t drink orange juice on its own; I think it’s more about paying attention to what we eat, and balancing our diet throughout the meals.
