Tonight marked my another attempt at #banhmi. Not the perfect ones yet, but definitely the best ones since day 1. Breadmaking is an art of science, and I am not exaggerating 😂. Everytime I cook, my brain is always on fire because believe it or not, kitchen is like a lab that one day you succeed and one day you fail and it takes many trials to really understand the ‘why’. So, #respect to all the chefs and cooks out there who always keep trying to give us the best food and the best recipes!
My banhmi today is served with charsiu stewed jackfruit, a nutritious veggie that also gives me a note of my tropical home, and eryngi mushroom. Charsiu is a Chinese-inspired sweet sauce made of five spice powder, annatto coloring, and seasonings. It is not a typical Vietnamese dish, but for sure a tasty one for dinner.
